What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join our creative and dedicated team. This special person will be required to support the progress and attainment of children at our school. The position will most likely be working within Key Stage 1 or 2 but could include work in Early Years. It will primarily involve supporting children with Special Educational Needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Good skills in English and Maths are paramount. Our minimum requirement is GCSE A-C in English and Mathematics or equivalent; your application will not be considered without these qualifications.

Our Teaching Assistants are ambitious and often move on to complete PGCEs or take other routes into teaching and are excellent work experience for candidates interested in child psychology. All our TAs also provide support to pupils across break and lunchtimes. This requires the ability to work with all groups of children between the ages of 3 and 11 years old, along with a need to be kind, outgoing and creative. The role includes working both in the lunch hall with children and organising games and activities in the playground. You should be first aid trained or willing to attain that qualification. Enthusiasm is a must!
