Teaching Assistant 1:1 job summary
The children, staff and Governors of Cambridge Road School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to be part of our team. This is a part-time position, initially working 1:1 with a KS1 child with an Education and Health Care Plan. Experience of working with children with additional learning needs including speech and language would be an advantage. The role will involve supporting the child to become an independent and co-operative learner, identify and remove barriers to students’ learning and provide support at break and lunch times with eating, drinking and socialising. The post-holder will need to hold at least an NVQ Level 2 qualification in supporting teaching and learning, achieved through a recognised training provider.
The successful candidate will join a highly experienced and skilled team who work tirelessly to unlock potential for pupils with social, emotional and mental health issues. They will be a confident Teaching Assistant whose character and skills will fit into our motivated team and who also has a commitment to high standards. The role of the 1:1 may also include helping the class teacher in planning and delivering sessions as well as carrying out small group and one-to-one sessions of support outside of class with the aim of raising attainment; ensuring children achieve their potential and supporting social and emotional growth.
