Teaching Assistant 1 job summary

As a result of the rapidly expanding numbers The Governors of Parklea Primary School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant 1 to compliment our team.

The role will be a fixed term contract while supporting a child for 39 weeks per year (includes 5 training days), 30 hours per week.

We have high expectation of all our staff, successful candidates will:

Provide support in the classroom to individuals/groups of pupils as directed by the class teacher/line manager

Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate

The ability to respond calmly and constructively when dealing with students with SEN.

Contribute to the health and safety of all pupils which will include first aid and intimate care. Appropriate training will be provided.

Carry out a lunchtime duty as part of their role.

Have the necessary skills and knowledge to work across the school from Reception to Year 6.

Have basic maths and English knowledge, in order to be able to provide the appropriate level of support to our pupils.
