Teaching Assistant - 1 to 1 job summary
We are looking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant in our charming village primary school, located in the Hertfordshire countryside, just 7 miles from Hitchin / 10 minutes from Luton Airport. We are a friendly village primary school with a happy and caring team of staff and children. The role will be supporting a child 1:1 .
Hours of work will be 8:45 to 3.15 Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children with a range of Special Educational Needs in the classroom and throughout the school day.
Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and providing tailored support for students.
Work closely with other staff members to track student progress and implement strategies for their individual needs.
Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Assist with the preparation of resources and classroom setup.
Provide pastoral support and encourage positive behaviour.
Support students during lunch, break times, and other non-teaching activities when needed.
Work collaboratively with parents and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
You will have a clear and passionate view of how children best learn and be dynamic, creative and enthusiastic in your approach. Our children need adults who will inspire and challenge them, setting high expectations with appropriate support.
This role requires flexibility, the ability to be a good team player and strong communication skills. The successful applicant will provide a range of support 1:1 for a child currently in KS1, so experience of SEN is vital.
