Teaching Assistant (17 Hours Per Week) Part time: 17 hours per week/39 weeks per year Contract: Permanent / Part Time Banding: Band 2 (Points 3-5) Salary: £7,451-£7,752 Actual Salary (FTE 18,887-£19,650) Start Date: 24 August 2022 Closing Date: 0900 1 July 2022 Interviews: 5 July 2022 JOB OVERVIEW An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at St John Fisher Catholic Voluntary Academy. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible, and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities. You will be flexible, reliable, and positive and be a good communicator working with parents, teachers and professionals for the good of the child. You must be enthusiastic and creative, be able to inspire pupils to achieve and be an outstanding team player that is willing to undertake necessary training and be able to show initiative, but also be able to seek or listen to advice. Working as part of a team of Learning Support Assistants, the postholder will work under the direction of the Teaching assistant line manager to provide focused Maths and phonics interventions to pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2. The postholder will also use programmes and strategies to help promote positive behaviour, develop self-help skills and use IT packages. This support will be provided both as in-class support and as withdrawal sessions.
