Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant (level 2) who, under the instruction & guidance of our wonderful teaching team, can undertake work, care and support programmes to assist in managing the students & classroom, whilst ensuring that every pupil has access to learning and is achieving their full potential. This position would suit a positive, energetic, proactive team-player who is enthusiastic about making a difference!

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending to the pupils’ personal needs, and implementing related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
  • Undertaking programmes linked to local and national learning strategies to support pupils to achieve learning goals, recording achievement & progress and feeding back to the teacher
  • Supervising and providing particular support for pupils including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning
  • Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans

Temporary contract for Maternity cover

26.25 hours per week - 9.00 am to 3.15 pm Monday to Friday

We are seeking to appoint an experienced SEN TA to support a child with additional needs to work at Cameley Primary School.

Cameley Church of England Primary is a small, rural school on the outskirts of Bath and Bristol. We are a welcoming and friendly school with high aspirations for our school community. We currently have 155 pupils on roll, including our nursery pupils.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant who has a depth of knowledge and experience supporting SEND, as well as the ability to work well as part of term. Duties will include some break-time cover.
