Teaching Assistant
To commence ASAP
Fixed Term Contract for Maternity Leave Cover to 10 November 2025
8.15 am – 3.15 pm Mon- Fri with a daily 30 minute unpaid break (32.5 hours per week)
Term time plus training days (39 weeks per year)
Salary: Grade 5DT Grade 4 £23,893 - £25,119 p.a. FTE
Actual Salary £18,212 - £19,147 p.a.
We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work alongside the Excellence Department to support access to learning for children with mobility, learning or social and communication difficulties. Your role will include working with a number of children in lessons or on a 1-1 basis which may include pre-teaching or recapping skills already learnt. You must enjoy working with children and be able to relate well to both students and adults and want to make a difference to the lives of our young people.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with children with a SEND need and/or an understanding of the support they will need to succeed in a mainstream secondary school. Please note that due to the nature of the role, the hours of work are not negotiable.
This is a fixed term contract to provide Maternity Leave Cover.
This is also an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to enter the teaching profession and will enhance your chance of obtaining a place on teacher training programmes.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a good knowledge and experience of working with a variety of SEND needs
- Be highly organised and proficient in the use of IT
- Have excellent communication skills that allow you to inform, coach and support students
- Want to make a difference to the children in our care
