Position: Teaching Assistant (with a focus on SEN support)
Grade: Grade 4 Pt4
Hours: 32.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm (with ½ hour lunch break unpaid)

Burford Primary School is a growing and successful school with happy, well motivated and hardworking children and staff.
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support in the classrooms ranging from Early Years to Year 6. The right candidate will have a passion for ensuring that all children develop academically and socially in a caring environment. You will work closely with class teachers and our SENDCo, supporting whole class teaching, small group work or working individually with children, some who will have additional needs. Relevant qualifications would be advantageous, however, for the right candidate, we will support you with training needs.
Applicants should be able to communicate well verbally and have a good standard of numeracy and literacy (GCSE grade A - C). They should be flexible and able to work well in a team. They will also be required to cover lunch time duty to support the children during their lunchtime play.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant who can offer support in a class with a range of complex social, emotional and mental health needs. We are looking for someone who:
- Ideally, has experience of/ is also willing to develop their knowledge through training, of working with children with SEMH needs.
- Is aware of strategies to de-escalate behaviour and support children to re-engage with learning.
- Is sensitive to the social and emotional needs for the child.
- Can establish good relationships with children whilst setting firm boundaries.
- Is able to identify children's strengths and targets to help build their development.
- Is confident in working with students on a 1:1 basis, small group basis and assisting the class teachers where necessary.
- Is able to work alongside outside agencies (including attending meetings) to support the learning and development of the child.
- Has good interpersonal skills especially when dealing with children, colleagues and parents/carers whilst upholding the ethos of the school.
- Is supportive and keen to work as a part of a dedicated team and to be involved in school life.
- Will support and enhance the values of our school.
