What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to employ an additional Teaching Assistant to join our team of supportive and professional staff. The role will include supporting key children with complex SEND on a 1:1 basis and general TA duties, plus a half hour lunch duty. Experience of working with children who have complex SEND is desirable, but not essential.

The right candidate will have:

  • Drive, determination and a passion for working with children and their families.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a large staff team.
  • A positive outlook and a resilient nature.
  • A commitment to developing their own, and others, practice as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of children with complex SEND.

If you feel you would be suitable to work within our supportive and friendly team, we would like to hear from you!

What the school offers its staff

We support part-time working and welcome applicants for either the full position or working every morning or every afternoon (school can create a job share for suitable applicants). Please specify on your application form (within the personal statement section) what hours you would like to be considered for.

We can offer you:

  • Plenty of opportunities for professional development, within our school and our Trust.
  • An individual CPD pathway, to develop practice, and help you reach the next stage in your career.
  • An opportunity to work in a charitable organisation that is focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged children.
  • A competitive salary, a popular benefits and rewards programme.
  • The opportunity to work as part of a supportive team of staff, working with our incredible children.

What our staff team say is the best thing about working at Windale:

  • “We have an amazing team of staff, who are committed and professional at all times. The children are fantastic and fully engage with learning, trying to be the best they can be.”
  • “The CPD, the career growth opportunities and the children themselves. The incredible effort being made by absolutely everyone who works here to make the school the very best it can be.”
  • “The colleagues I work with are hard-working, motivated and give everything they can to their role. Staff are happy to come to work and enjoy spending time with the children. They work hard and there is a culture of sharing successes”.
  • “That I have the best ability to teach and support children in their everyday learning. It is also a great school to work in and a good team.”
