Eaton Hall Specialist Academy is seeking to appoint Teaching Assistants. The academy teaches pupils from primary through to secondary and therefore it is important in your application to state the age range you prefer to work with. There is availability in both areas as the academy staff are flexible as to the areas that they support. This type of flexibility helps with achieving promoted posts.
There are also opportunities to work additional hours within the residential care team if staff wish to.
Many of our teaching assistants in recent years have successfully secured places on initial teacher training.
The Academy is a residential special school for boys in the age range 7 – 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Pupils arrive with disrupted educational experiences and complex difficulties and our team will be responsible for ensuring that they leave with superb outcomes academically, socially and behaviourally.

The Academy runs a very strong staff support and development programme. The successful candidates will be reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character. The academy is looking for people who have a variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.
This permanent Teaching Assistant post will be 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 training days. The weeks worked are 39 weeks; therefore payment is pro rata over 12 equal monthly payments per year.
The postholder will need to be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing in order to undertake the requirements of the role.
