Hours: 32.5 hours per week 8.30am-3.30pm (with 30 minutes unpaid lunch)

Queen Katharine Academy is a rapidly expanding Academy in Peterborough. Due to recent promotions within the Academy we are looking to increase our team of teaching assistants who want to make a difference to our students and join our enthusiastic, hard-working and committed Special Educational Needs and Disabilities team.

The school caters for students with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including those with Educational and Health Care Plans.

Your role will be to work with students in the classroom and to work with small groups, supporting them to access learning activities to meet their needs. You will also be required to support students in providing personal and intimate care as some of our students need assistance with everyday activities.

The department is well resourced and includes fantastic practitioners. We are looking to appoint a colleague who shares our vision and determination to help every student achieve their potential.

The successful candidate must:

Adopt a consistent approach to all students
Be flexible
Have a sense of humour

The ability to establish mutually respectful and supportive relationships with our students is essential to the role of a Teaching Assistant. The role will be challenging but rewarding and experience of working with students of secondary school age would be an advantage although not essential. We would consider personality and commitment of the utmost importance. Full training will be given.
