Wolvercote Primary School is looking for a Teaching Assistant who wants the opportunity to make a life changing difference to a young person. We are looking for someone to work 121 with a year 2 child with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. It requires someone with patience, resilience and the ability to remain positive. The role is full time but will be split between working 121 and supporting in a KS1 class. If you would like to know more about the role before applying then please call the school and ask to speak Mandy Hayes or Miriam Marsden.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Keen to learn

We value reflective practice and have a desire to be ‘even better’. We provide a range of opportunities for continuous development.

  • A resilient ‘can-do’ attitude

We adopt a problem-solving approach with teamwork and collaboration. Staff wellbeing is important to us and we regularly review workload.

  • Kind and caring

We implement restorative practice in the school and aim to understand each child’s needs.

  • Commitment to inclusivity and excellence

We have high standards and help children to be the best that they can be academically, behaviourally, emotionally and in all areas of the curriculum.

  • Relational

Staff seek to be positive role-models. We believe that relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere in the school. Our children are friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming. They strive to do their best and enjoy attending school. We offer candidates the opportunity to join our supportive and motivated team of staff and governors with excellent opportunities for professional development.

Our school is part of the River Learning Trust. Our collective vision is to be a Trust where pupils and staff thrive in schools which demonstrate commitment to excellence, everyone learning, respectful relationships.

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff. For more information on what it is like to work for the Trust, and the benefits you could access, please see our “Working in RLT” guide.

This role includes regulated activity relevant to children.
