Salary: NJC Grade D2 Point 4-11 £18,356 - £20,511 per annum
Hours: 32.5 hours, 39 Weeks (Term Time plus 1 Week), permanent
Location: Riverside Primary School, St Edmund’s Way, Rainham, Kent, ME8 8ET

We are seeking to appoint a full time (32.5 hours / 5 days per week) Teaching Assistant / 1-1 to support the Class Teachers at Riverside Primary School across the Key Stages from Foundation Stage to Year 6. This may involve working with a class or supporting a child on a more intensive basis, providing 1-1 support. You may also be required to deliver intervention programmes under the direction of the Inclusion Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary work with individual pupils to the highest standards
- Assist the implementation of individual programmes for pupils and help monitor their progress
- Undertake specific duties identified by the class teacher
- Maintain a positive, supportive attitude within a team
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience of working with children with Autism and/or Speech and Language difficulties would be advantageous
- Understanding of children with different behavioural needs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Possess a desire to help all children achieve their best
- Have a caring nature and a deep regard for children
- Enthusiastic, energetic and adaptable
- Excellent communication skills
