We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team here at Braintcroft Academy, the successful candidate will work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
  • Support pupils to understand instructions and support independent learning
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Use strategies, under the supervision and guidance of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
  • Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with the established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour

Pay range: Scale Point Range 2-6 - Actual Salary £24,990.01- £26,376.15 including Inner Allowance

Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCSE Maths & English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
  • TA1 qualification or relevant experience
  • Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills
