Teaching Assistant job summary

To take a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social and physical needs of pupils; to support the curriculum and the school through the provision of a high level of assistance in the practical organisation of support activities, undertaking group work and ensuring the welfare and development of pupils. We currently have several positions available. Some may be offered as one year fixed term appointments and others permanent (following a 6 month probationary period), depending on experience and circumstances. This will be discussed with candidates at interview. Richard Lander School is a popular school, over subscribed in all year groups. We have 1500 students on roll and this number is growing.
Mr Steve Mulcahy, is our Headteacher and has been since 2008. The building and grounds are part of a PFI contract and are maintained to a very high standard.
We have high standards of our students and the staff who work with them. We have an ARB on site which is very much part of our school. We drive to ensure that everyone can 'be the best that they can be' and this includes both staff and students. Our standards are high and our aim is for all children to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.
