Teaching Assistant job summary
Freeland CE Primary School wishes to appoint a teaching assistant to start as soon as possible. We need someone for 18 hours per week to work primarily in reception (4-5 year olds) but also in other classes, where needed and to work with small groups of children or 1:1 to deliver interventions such as phonics, maths, speech and language.
We are looking for someone with a passion for working with young children to join our dedicated team of staff. We are a small rural village primary school with 136 pupils on roll from 2-11 years old who are well behaved and engaged in their learning.
We need someone who is:
Hardworking and willing to be flexible
energetic and enthusiastic
has a sense of humour
has good literacy and numeracy skills
can use their initiative
is hardworking
can develop effective relationships with children and colleagues
loves learning and is willing to develop their practice through professional development regularly
effective basic use of ICT
Prior experience of working in an early years setting would be an advantage but not essential. The role involves working alongside the class teacher to support children with their learning, having high quality interactions to help every child make progress and ensure the emotional wellbeing of pupils.
