What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude, who can use their own initiative and work as part of a team, to cover the following roles as soon as possible from September / October 2025:

The successful candidate will join a well-established, highly committed team of staff and children, working in an inspirational and vibrant environment. You will need a good rapport with children and the ability to communicate with them clearly and calmly.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a good level of literacy and mathematical skills
  • Be dedicated to providing a secure and inspiring learning environment where children can thrive
  • Be effective in establishing positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Support the daily planned activities for the children
  • Responsible for keeping records and providing feedback to the class teacher in relation to children's progress and achievement

Hankham Primary School is a small rural primary school set in the idyllic hamlet of Hankham, which lies between Eastbourne and Hailsham. Visitors to our school regularly comment on its beautiful setting. It’s such a lovely place to work!
