We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team and help us on our mission to provide our children with the very best educational experience.
Hook Lane Primary School is part of the Maritime Multi-Academy Trust, an innovative partnership of schools in Greenwich and Kent. Our academies transform through collaboration and an entrepreneurial curriculum which equips children with life skills.

We believe that children learn most effectively through active participation in the learning process so that they build their knowledge through understanding. You will be:
- Dedicated and resilience when supporting children who experience significant barriers to learning
- Qualified to at least a NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- An experienced teaching assistant with a range of knowledge on supporting children across different ages
- Someone with experience of working with children with a range of SEND
- Able to draw on a wide range of strategy to adapt and support learning
- Someone committed to working in partnership with staff, parents and the community to promote inclusion and excellent opportunities for all.

Hook Lane is an all-inclusive 2 form entry community school with a Nursery and a 14 place Resource Provision for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. As a school we celebrate difference and diversity both through our ethos and our curriculum.
Our school motto of “Encouraging Fearless Learners” is at the heart of everything we do and we actively encourage our children to be independent and take risks in their learning. We very much value that our children experience enrichment through our educational visits and wider curriculum. At Hook Lane we recognise the important contributions that our parents and carers can make to their children’s education and regularly host workshops, big outcomes and performances to engage them and involve them in the learning taking place.
The Hook Lane staff team work collaboratively and have high expectations of our children to ensure they make the best possible progress during their time with us. We recognise that children deserve the opportunity to excel across the curriculum and pride ourselves on providing for ambitious standards in the humanities, arts and PE as well as in English and Maths. We measure success by understanding children’s individual progress and attainment and know that this can look different for each child.
As a community school we are keen to ensure children see the importance of growing into good citizens for the future and understand the important contribution they can make. To this end we work hard to build good relations with our local community through charity fund raising and visiting local businesses, localities and places of interest.
