What skills and experience we're looking for
Barton Hill Academy, based in Torquay, Devon, opened September 2012 and is sponsored by Academies Enterprise Trust (AET). The Academy currently has 660 pupils on roll aged 3-11. We aim for every child to have a happy and active primary education in an environment that is caring and supporting. We aim to provide a stimulating and structured environment in which every child will be encouraged to reach their full potential.
We are now recruiting for two Teaching Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are looking to gain in-class experience before applying to train to teach. We also warmly welcome applications from those with previous experience working with students and young people in some capacity or those who have a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward working with our students. Your responsibilities will include working with a pupil/pupils under the direction of teaching staff. You will provide skilled support to all pupils including those with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties.
We warmly welcome visits at any time so you can see the building and meet the school team in person - please contact the Headteacher's PA, Jessica Lee on to arrange a time to pop in.
These are fixed term roles, due to commence in January 2023 and will continue until August 31st 2023.

30 hours per week
Monday - Friday 08:30 - 15:20 with 20 minute break + 30 minute lunch
Term time plus INSET days
