Teaching Assistant job summary

We are a busy special educational needs school and looking to recruit fantastic Teaching Assistants to work across all age groups to support and motivate all our pupils. 

Billing Brook strives to give all our pupils the best education support and that’s how you can fit in.

Our TA posts are suitable for those who are really passionate about working with pupils who have special educational needs and making a real difference to their lives. Previous experience would be desirable but not essential but your willingness to learn is vital to your success at Billing Brook School.

We welcome applications from candidates who have:

·        Excellent interpersonal skills and you relate to children and young people.

·        A good understanding of and demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs

·        Practical experience or sound knowledge of children with autism in the classroom

·        Ideally good basic Level 2 English and Maths or demonstrating equivalent experience  

·        A good team player

Successful applicants may be required to undertake further training, occasionally taking place when the school is closed.

We welcome applications from experienced candidates or those who are starting out their career and are willing to learn and grow within the school.  We will also consider applications from new graduates who want SEND experience before embarking on their future teaching career with us

All TA posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance check as well as a satisfactory health check and 2 satisfactory references from previous employers as part of our safer recruitment processes. 

The positions are for 33.5 hours per week for 39 weeks of the year.

Salary Range Grade E point 4 £21,189 (full time equivalent (FTE)) £16,483 (Actual)
