What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for candidates who are keen, motivated, and use their initiative. Applicants will preferably have experience of working in a school setting. Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and/or working with young people with SEN and learning difficulties is desirable but not essential as further training will be given.

What the school offers its staff

Blacon High School prides itself on being relentless in its desire to provide outstanding learning opportunities, and the successful candidate will join a well-established team. In September 2016 we moved into a new state of the art building and a further extension was completed in September 2021 due to the school being oversubscribed for the 4th year. This has enabled the school to grow from 600 to 750 students.

Commitment to safeguarding

Blacon High School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.
