What skills and experience we're looking for
Braeburn Primary and Nursery Academy are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within our SEN team. The hours for this position are 23 hours per week, these will be worked during the school term time.
As a Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in the child’s day, you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of all our children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines. You will use behaviour management in all areas around school. You will also guide the child to help them to develop friendships and relationships with other adults in the school and their peers.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children, ideally in KS1, in a supportive capacity and has good verbal communication, strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team as these are all essential to this role.
You will have the ability to build a good rapport with parents and carers and the wider school community.
Ideally you will be an experienced Teaching Assistant with knowledge and understanding with regards to child development and the curriculum and how to enhance a child’s experiences and build upon their learning. Whilst this is the ideal, full training and support will be given to those new to the role.
