Teaching Assistant 22.5 hours – Salary Scale G3.6

Limewoods Federation are looking to appoint teaching assistant to join our small, friendly and dedicated staff team, initially based at Bucknall Primary School.

The position is to support a small group of children in Years 3 and 4 with an ASD and/or ADHD diagnosis. The post holder will work on a one to one basis with the children and also with the children in small groups, supporting their social, behavioural and educational development, both in the class and during play and lunch. Initially the post is temporary until 31st August 2025 or until assistance is no longer required or as a result of the children leaving the school, whichever is the earliest. It will be reviewed at this point.

The position is initially for 22.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.45 -1.15 pm during term time, plus attendance at training sessions that meet the individual needs of the children

You must have a passion for supporting children’s learning. The post also requires good literacy skills and excellent communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with other team members, parents and the relevant professionals involved with the children.

Calmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build relationships are essential qualities. An ability to work on your own initiative is essential as you will be expected to use the children’s developmental targets set by a variety of professionals during the sessions to support their learning and development, alongside the teachers planning.

Previous experience of working with children is essential. Relevant training and previous experience of working with children with ASD and ADHD would be advantageous. A candidate with a suitable Level 3 qualification is preferred.
