Teaching Assistant-Burgess Hill WSAPC job summary
What we are looking for:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working Primary Teaching Assistant, who wishes to join our friendly, supportive team. This is a fixed term Contract for a period of one year from date of appointment
Candidates invited for interview will be highly skilled individuals with experience of working in a school setting with challenging behaviours and supporting children with varying needs. The ability to remain calm and level headed yet think on your feet is essential. In addition, you should ideally have had previous successful experience of working with pupils to help them improve their social skills, resilience and emotional wellbeing over time. A particular focus will be pupil engagement and behaviour.
The role will entail working across Reception to Key Stage 2, leading class based cover and covering for teacher absence as required.

• Be excellent practitioners with high expectations of all pupils
• Be passionate about child-centred learning
• Have excellent organisational and communication skills and enjoy working in a team
• Preferably have experience of working in two or more key stages
• Be able to make a positive contribution to the ethos of our school
• Have a firm commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities for all
You will have:
• Maths and English GCSE or Equivalent Grade C or above
• A good standard of education across a range of subjects
• Excellent numeracy/literacy skills – equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English & Maths
• Working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes
• Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation
