We are looking for a passionate and inspiring Teaching Assistant (Level 1) to join our supportive and talented team at Hanham Woods Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.
Hanham Woods Academyis a secondary school located within the outskirts of Bristol and South Gloucestershire, delivering education to pupils aged 11-16. It is one of the most improved academies in the South West, providing an excellent education to over 800 students. The academy has a growing reputation both locally and regionally.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant - Level 1, to assist in the educational, personal and social development of designated students under the direction and guidance of relevant colleagues (e.g. the Principal, SENCo and/or INCo, phase leaders and class teachers.) The successful candidate will support students by adopting relevant strategies and techniques to enable them to access the curriculum, engage with their learning and achieve their full potential. They will take responsibility for implementing planned learning activities/ teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to students’ responses as appropriate. In addition, they will deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as social and emotional well-being. Working collaboratively with relevant colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role.
