What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for positive and inspiring Teaching Assistants to join the team at Wymondham College Prep School on a permanent basis. The role will support the complement the professional work of teachers as directed.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Mathematics, previous experience working with children, preferably primary school age, in a classroom or similar environment and have Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Be committed to the school’s high standards of teaching, learning and professional development.
  • Have excellent communication skills, a warm and caring personality and a good sense of humour.
  • Understand the importance of an inclusive environment and high expectations on pupil behaviour.
  • Have a welcoming and friendly approach with a high level of professionalism.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of pupils in adherence with the school procedures while in play areas, the dining hall, classrooms or anywhere on the school site

What the school offers its staff

Wymondham College Prep School is looking to appoint a reliable, nurturing and caring individual to work as a classroom-based Teaching Assistant. The Teaching Assistant will work as part of a classroom team, supporting pupils across their learning, including during lunchtimes. interactions with others. Wymondham College Prep School opened in September 2020 with two Reception classes housed in Wymondham College. In September 2021 the school moved into its new purpose-built home on the site of Wymondham College. The school is currently two form entry for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and one form entry in Year 5 & Year 6 with 234 pupils on roll. When the school is full, we will be a school of 452 pupils which includes 32 boarders across Year 5 & Year 6.
