What skills and experience we're looking for

Braeburn Primary and Nursery Academy are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within our dedicated team. The working hours for this position is 30 hours per week working Monday – Friday, these hours will be worked during the school term time.

As a Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in the child’s day, you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of all our children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step by step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines. You will use behaviour management in all areas around school. You will also guide the child to help them to develop friendships and relationships with other adults in the school and their peers.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children, in a supportive capacity and has good verbal communication, strong time management, organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team as these are all essential to this role. The ideal candidate would have experience of working in KS1 or Lower Key Stage 2 but relevant training would be given if this is not the case.

You will have the ability to build a good rapport with parents and carers and the wider school community.

Ideally you will be an experienced Teaching Assistant with knowledge and understanding with regards to child development and the curriculum and how to enhance a child’s experiences and build upon their learning.

There will also be the opportunity for the right candidate to embark on level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship as part of their training and development within the role.
