Teaching Assistant job summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated Inclusion Team. The post holder will support the education and developmental needs of students, assist teachers in the management and maintenance of classroom resources and contribute to the supervision and welfare of students. The post holder will be expected to work with mainstream and high needs students on the autistic spectrum. The post is for 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time only.

The post will involve:

  • Working in close partnership with students, parents/carers and school staff, and putting young people at the centre of our care.
  • Having a creative and flexible approach to supporting students with a range of needs including autism.
  • Having high expectations of what students can achieve by motivating and inspiring them.
  • Assisting in adapting the curriculum to meet students' EHCP outcomes.
  • Contributing to interventions and strategies of support.
  • Assisting in maintaining an SEN friendly learning environment.
