Salary Range: Grade 2 - £23,500 - £24,021

Pelton Community Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Early Years. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils. We are particularly looking for individuals with strong behaviour management skills to help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

This role will involve working closely with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) pupils, supporting their foundational learning and development. You will help create a stimulating and engaging environment tailored to the needs of young children, fostering their curiosity, social skills, and early academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

Behaviour Management: Effectively manage and support positive pupil behaviour, ensuring a calm, structured, and productive classroom environment. Use a range of strategies to address and resolve behaviour challenges, always promoting respectful and inclusive interactions. Supporting Teaching and Learning: Collaborate with teachers and HLTA staff to deliver planned learning activities and teaching programs. Play an active role in the planning and evaluation of these activities by providing valuable feedback on pupil progress and behaviour. Monitoring and Feedback: Assist in monitoring, assessing, and recording pupil progress. Provide constructive and timely feedback to pupils on their attainment, progress, and areas for improvement. Social and Emotional Well-Being: Support pupils in their social and emotional development, fostering resilience and self-regulation. Address concerns promptly and report them to the teacher/HLTA. Resource Management: Help arrange and provide resources for lessons and activities, ensuring all pupils can engage fully with the curriculum. Collaboration: Work closely with other staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to support the holistic development of pupils, ensuring their needs are met effectively. Promoting Inclusion: Champion independent learning and ensure all pupils feel included and valued within the school community.

Essential Qualities

The ideal candidate will:

Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and the ability to address challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive manner. Be proactive, adaptable, and compassionate, with a genuine commitment to supporting pupil development. Show excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively within a team to achieve the best outcomes for pupils. Be passionate about promoting inclusion and fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for all pupils.
