Gatehouse Primary Teaching Assistant - fixed term - 16.25hpw job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to work alongside the class teachers and other adults in the team, to support a pupil with SEMH needs in 1:1 working and within groups. The hours are 16.25 ideally across 5 days with some degree of flexibility.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Establish constructive relationships with the pupil and encourage interaction with others
- Promote inclusion through the development of social skills, language and emotional wellbeing
- Liase with other professionals both within and outside the school
- Show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given situations with integrity and compassion
Experience of supporting children with the following is desirable:
- children who have communication and interaction needs
- children with emotional needs
- children with autism
