What skills and experience we're looking for
Teaching assistants are required to work closely with the class teachers and any other teaching assistants to meet the needs of the class as well as individual children with SEND. These positions are fixed term contracts due to maternity leaves but have the potential to become permanent.
The positions are full days, 5 days a week, 8:35-3:15. Duties will include lunchtime duty and there may be additional hours available for breakfast club or after school club.
We are looking for the right people for the job – any of the following could be advantageous:
- Experience working as a teaching assistant in a school
- Previous teacher looking to work in a school in a different capacity
- A graduate or post A-level student, who is considering being a teacher
You must have a genuine interest in working with children and entering the education profession. You will have lots of energy, resilience, be keen to learn and willing to have a go. We would welcome any specialist skills such as music, art, outdoor learning, cooking, drama, dance or sport etc as we would work with you to ensure you get the opportunity to develop these with our children.
