We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, to support the learning and teaching of children. This role may be attractive to those who may already have experience of / or working with children in any setting and who may therefore have relevant skills and knowledge they wish to develop. Applications are also welcome from graduates seeking to gain experience in an educational environment.

Under the guidance of others the Teaching Assistant will:

  • Promote and support pupil access to the curriculum
  • Support children in their learning
  • Work with class groups, individuals and small groups
  • Model and promote positive values, attitudes and behaviour
  • Have a willingness to by fully involved in the life of the academy

If a level 3 qualification is something that you are interested in working towards we can arrange this for the successful candidate through our apprenticeship levy. We encourage you to also apply for the Wraparound Care Lead if the apprenticeship is something that appeals to you.

The role is based at Aughton Primary Academy but may, on occasion, involve working at other academies within the trust.

Any information that is “protected” under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 will not appear on a DBS certificate and does not need to be declared. Guidance on this can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-guidance-on-the-rehabilitation-of-offenders-act-1974

Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration related to their criminal record or any information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Additional checks in relation to the Childcare Disqualification Regulations will be undertaken for successful candidates to junior academies. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK, additional information may be required from you to satisfy safer recruitment checks.

ACET is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity throughout the recruitment process. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, and your application will be assessed purely on your ability to do the job.
