Grade D Point 3-4 (£20,812 - £21,189) + SEN Allowance (£2,384)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

(38 weeks term time + 5 Training days)

£15,713 - £15,998 + £1,799 (actual salary)

We have an exciting opportunity for Teaching Assistants to join our team in our newly opened DSP. Therefore, we require a suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our provision.

As a new purpose-built DSP, situated within the heart of the main school we offer this fantastic opportunity for the right person to use their knowledge and skills to change lives, enthuse and inspire.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with ASC or special school experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

You’ll be making a difference! As an awesome individual, you’ll help to nurture and support our pupils who have a diagnosis of Autism or will be on an ASC pathway. You will contribute to changing their lives.

The ideal candidate will be confident, enthusiastic, have excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) and good reading, writing and numeracy skills, along with the ability to build good & trusting working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers.

The main duties of the post will be:

To assist the Headteacher and staff by providing general support for children (but will also include supporting individuals or groups) in the classroom, playground and elsewhere around the school.

Support teaching and learning by working with individuals, small groups or whole class under the direction of the class teacher

  • Supervise and support students in the learning environment including more in-depth support for those with complex needs, promoting independence, inclusion and equality for all students
  • Supporting students to manage behaviour and report accordingly
