Teaching Assistant for our Special Resource Provision job summary

This is a Teaching Assistant role, working 8.30am – 3.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break, where you will be working within both our SRP class and also supporting individuals and small groups to access their mainstream provision. We are really proud of our children and are certain that you would be too.

You will at times be working in the main school supporting children in class, in small groups and working 1:1 with children.

You would be joining our friendly, supportive and expert team at Birch Hill Primary School and Nursery during an exciting time as we become part of Maiden Erlegh Trust. We are a two-form entry school serving families in the Birch Hill and Hanworth districts of Bracknell Forest.

The successful candidate will be hard working and committed, and will be able to inspire, motivate and encourage children at all levels. We are looking for a team player who can support both the children in their care and the colleagues with whom they will be working with.

We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 / CACHE Level 2 Certificate or equivalent

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths

Good problem-solving skills; being able to adapt skilfully to ensure the very best support and guidance is provided.

A positive and ‘can do’ attitude, who remains calm under pressure; with belief in growth mindsets for themselves and others.

Limitless patience and empathy; being able to communicate clearly and build a trusting relationship with the children you are supporting.

Highly organised and adaptable; with and a commitment to ensuring your actions meet the schools high-standards and help us meet our strategic goals.
