We have vacancies for a September start

We are currently expanding our superb team of Teaching Assistants and invite applications from energetic, positive applicants who want to make a difference in the lives of our wonderful students.
This is a chance to join a Special Educational Needs and Disability department that is regarded as a centre of excellence. The students it supports have a wide range of needs and working with them offers you the challenges and rewards of education at its best.

We are looking to appoint successful candidates into two types of role. One is to work in a mentoring capacity to help our students overcome barrier to education enabling them to experience the best possible success. The other is to support students to access the curriculum within the classroom.

Nunnery Wood High School is oversubscribed with extremely high standards of behaviour and respect. Our students with additional needs are a vital part of the school community and they all access mainstream lessons as a significant part of their timetables. Their remaining time is spent in the Base – a suite of rooms dedicated to additional support.

We welcome applications from those already working in education, but equally from those keen to make a career shift. Although the majority of Teaching Assistant time is spent in supporting students academically, we seek candidates with experience or interest in the following areas:

• Autism spectrum disorder
• Speech and language
• Outdoor learning
• Cognition or mental health
• Manual, craft or construction
An application form and further information is available from the vacancies section of the school website.
Applications should be made on the Nunnery Wood High School or the ETeach application form, C.V’s will not be considered.
Closing date for applications: Wednesday 13th July, 12 noon

The successful applicants will be required to undertake safer recruitment vetting checks, including an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS.
