Who we are looking for

  • 5 GCSE at C grade or above including Maths and English
  • The ability to effectively communicate with children, teachers, parents, and other professionals is crucial. This includes active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • A genuine interest in working with children, a caring and supportive attitude, and the ability to understand and respond to individual needs are essential.
  • Working with children who may be facing learning difficulties or behavioural challenges, so patience and the ability to adapt to different situations are important
  • Organising resources, preparing materials, and managing classroom activities, good organisational and time management skills are needed
  • A general understanding of the curriculum and child development, and the ability to support learning in various subjects is beneficial.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff, so the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive team environment is essential.
  • Familiarity with technology and the ability to use it to support learning is increasingly important.
  • Experience working with children, particularly in educational settings.
  • Other Important Considerations:
  • Understanding of SEN (Special Educational Needs):
  • A good understanding of different types of needs and how to best support them.
  • An understanding of health and safety procedures, especially first aid, is important.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques is valued.

About the Role

  • Preparing the classroom for lessons (e.g., organising materials, setting up tables).
  • Clearing away after lessons (e.g., tidying up materials, putting away equipment).
  • Maintaining a safe and clean learning environment.
  • Supporting students with their learning needs, including those with special needs.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students.
  • Helping students with tasks like reading, writing, and comprehension.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers.

15 hours per week, term time (39 WEEKS) permanent

12:30pm - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
