Teaching Assistant job summary

Enthusiastic and nurturing teaching assistant wanted for our friendly and successful infant school!

Are you looking for a role where you can really make a difference? If so, we may have just the job for you!

Horley Infant School is looking for a caring, nurturing member of staff to join our fantastic team to help support the children’s learning and development. This position would be perfect for somebody who enjoys working with children, has good interpersonal skills, is an effective team player and is knowledgeable about how to support learning in the infant phase.

We would love to hear from people who have an understanding of the Early Years Framework or KS1 National Curriculum or experience of leading interventions or supporting specific needs would be desirable.

We pride ourselves on giving a family feel to our school even with nearly 270 children on roll. In May 2018, Ofsted recognised that we continue to be a good school but don’t just take their word for it - feel free to come along and take a look around. We hope you would agree that being at our school is a lot like the difference between being in a home and being in a house.

You should have a desire to:

  • Have a positive impact on the children
  • Join our hardworking team
  • Work in class in the Early Years or KS1
  • Assist children with their learning by providing support and interventions as well as working alongside children with special educational needs

The ideal candidate will also need to:

  • Be enthusiastic, committed and hard working
  • Be committed to reflecting the school’s values and working towards the school’s vision (see person specification)
  • Be prepared to work closely with the class teacher and team to provide seamless opportunities for our children
  • Able to use their initiative
  • Have a love for learning
  • Have high expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement
  • Have experience of working in a school, either in a paid or voluntary capacity

In return, we can offer:

  • A friendly, supportive and highly motivated team
  • Enthusiastic, well-behaved children who are keen to learn
  • Supportive parents and Governing body
  • A commitment to continuous professional development opportunities

Hours: 26.5 hours per week plus 2 hours PPA during term time including Inset Days –
