Teaching Assistant (L3) job summary

St Michael’s is a highly inclusive Church of England primary school with a SEND Unit for pupils with SEMH needs. At St Michael’s we value everyone as a child of God and we rejoice in our diversity. Our aim is to provide everyone with a happy, loving and nurturing environment where we are all able to flourish, make outstanding progress and expand hopes and aspirations. At the core of the Ark are the values of compassion and kindness, hope, love, connection and belonging.

The Ark aims to support primary age children from across Wolverhampton whose SEMH needs mean they need additional therapeutic and mental health intervention. The Ark supports children whose SEMH needs present primarily through behaviours which make them vulnerable: attachment needs, anxiety, low mood and low self-esteem. Children will typically have had early childhood trauma or adverse childhood experiences.

We are seeking an outstanding part-time Teaching Assistant (L3) to work in our forward-looking SEND Unit.

We would welcome applications from people who:

  • Are passionate about children's learning and determined to make a difference
  • Are caring and compassionate
  • Can engage in positive behaviour management and a restorative practice approach
  • Are a creative, flexible, committed and enthusiastic professional
  • Can work effectively as part of a team and on their own initiative
  • Can demonstrate excellent communication skills with children, colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals
  • Is excited and motivated by new challenges
  • Is willing to be part of the school team and go the extra mile
  • Is willing to support our distinctly Christian vision and values
  • Is willing to complete continuing professional development.

We are a welcoming and outstanding academy where everyone is valued as a child of God. We provide a nurturing and loving environment, where all have the confidence to make outstanding progress, fulfil hopes and aspirations and where a thirst for knowledge and wisdom is developed.

A visit to the school can be arranged by contacting Mrs Hallam on 01902 558845. For more information regarding the academy or Three Spires, please see the Recruitment Information Pack and Job Description attached. Applications must be made via MyNewTerm.
