About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (30 hrs per week Monday to Friday) to join our Learning Support team at Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College.

The post is term time only + 1 additional day, and permanent.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant you will work within a highly skilled team providing one to one, small group and classroom support to meet the needs of students with SEND and those with barriers to learning.

You will be responsible for providing support to groups of students inside or outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities, encouraging independence, liaising with the class teacher and Assistant Head for Inclusion & SEND in relation to the use of intervention strategies for students and providing feedback to the class teacher.

About You

Applicants should have experience of working with young people and the ability to establish good professional relationships with students and colleagues. The successful candidate will also have an understanding of safeguarding and child protection and special educational needs.

Applicants should be educated to GCSE level (grade 3 or equivalent) in both English and Maths or be able to demonstrate the equivalent level of competency, be organised, reliable and resilient, and be committed to their own learning.
