Further details about the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Howden Junior School as a Level 1 Teaching Assistant. Each day you will support and assist the teaching of students within the school.

You will work as part of our friendly and dedicated team, providing in-class support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs. You will preferably hold a Teaching Assistant Level 1 qualification or equivalent, have experience of working in a similar role, have a calm and patient manner and a positive attitude at all times.

Working under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher/SENDCO, the ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of English and Maths and the ability to engage children in their learning. It is important that candidates are caring, work well as part of a team and can act using their own initiative.

There are two positions available. The working hours are from 08:30am and 12:00pm Monday to Friday during the school term. This is a fixed term position until 31/07/2023. Your actual salary is £8,239.06 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.
