Teaching Assistant Level 1 job summary
Required from September 2022 to work at St Hugh’s School with students aged 11-19 years with complex learning, sensory, physical, communication and educational needs.
Main responsibilities will be to assist in developing pupils’ learning, personal self-care skills, and in managing pupils’ behaviour, under the close direction of the teacher or other senior member of staff.

St Hugh’s School is a special school for students between the ages of 11 years and 19 years of age who have a range of learning difficulties including moderate, severe learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, profound and complex needs and language and communication difficulties. The current number of students on roll (GOV.UK) is 173 students, of which 65.9% are boys and 34.1% are girls.
Students are nurtured to inspire them to make the best possible progress within their academic and personal school experience. Education and support are delivered by an amazing team of committed professional staff who strive to provide the very best of all students.
