Teaching Assistant Level 2 - 1:1 job summary
Barton St Peter's CE Primary School is looking for a compassionate, highly skilled Teaching Assistant to work from September 2022 as a classroom based teaching assistant supporting a child in EYFS with a diagnosis placing them on the Autistic Spectrum.
The candidate will work closely within a very supportive EYFS team to ensure the inclusion of this child and promote their learning, offering care, guidance and support that match the school’s ethos and values.
The successful candidate will have a secure understanding of ASD and experience of delivering personal care.
We are looking for applicants who will use creative approaches to build child's self-esteem, and independence and inspire them to ensure they reach their full potential in a mainstream setting.
The post is for 32.5 hours a week, 8:30 -3:30 with a 30 minute lunch break.
You will:
Have experience of support a child with an ASD diagnosis or similar
Have good knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly maths and English and phonics
Be able to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences on a 1:1 basis and sometimes in a small group
Be calm and patient and be able to see the potential in all of our children and be aspirational for them
Be nurturing and supportive with high expectations
Have excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and be confident to liaise with parents and professionals
Be flexible
Have the ability to work independently, showing initiative, as well as be part of a team, co-operating and collaborating with other staff
