Level 2 Teaching Assistant 

Hours: 36 hours per week; 38 weeks plus 5 training days 

About this Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Permanent Teaching Assistant to join our small, supportive team.

If you would like to make a difference to vulnerable children and their families and develop your professional skills, we would like to hear from you.

We are a small, friendly special school in Moulton with an intake of 35 children who have social, emotional and mental health and other complex needs. We take children from all over the county but predominantly Northampton and the south. Our aim is to provide a warm, nurturing environment with a family atmosphere. We have small classes of seven children with one teacher and a minimum of two teaching assistants per class. 

You will be someone who has experience of working with primary aged children and with children with special educational needs. You will want to support each child in a holistic way, learning and understanding about the whole child and their circumstances in order to build a positive relationship and provide individualised support. A sense of humour also helps!

Teaching Assistants are a very important part of our staff team and have their own Forum within school. You will be assigned a mentor and induction and training will be provided. 

The role is full time, 36 hours per week, term time plus training days.  

The role will entail working with a dedicated team to support the learning and teaching across the curriculum, ensuring the development of key functional skills of students with a wide range of learning needs. 

Kings Meadow School is a day, community, special school for primary aged pupils, who have severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Candidates with suitable experience, motivation and commitment have the opportunity to apply for the role.
