Teaching Assistant Level 2 job summary
- Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only (8:15 am - 3:15 pm with a 30-minute lunch break)
- Salary: £18,787 - £20,323 (pro-rata, based on Grade 2, spine points 3-8)
- Location: A welcoming and inclusive school environment
- Contract: Permanent, subject to enhanced DBS clearance
As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you’ll work closely with our teaching staff and Inclusion Leader to support the learning and personal development of pupils. You will help students make the most of their educational opportunities, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with classroom activities, supporting students' learning, and promoting their well-being.
- Providing tailored support for students with specific needs, including sensory impairments, learning difficulties, and social or emotional challenges.
- Collaborating with teachers to plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging lessons.
- Promoting positive behavior in line with school policies.
- Contributing to the broader life of the school by supporting events, activities, and initiatives.

Essential qualities and skills:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of young people, particularly those with SEN.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Creativity, initiative, and a passion for working with students aged 11-18.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- A willingness to engage in training and professional development.
