The school
Dobcroft Nursery Infant School is a friendly, welcoming, and creative school with an inclusive ethos. We have a 26 place pre-school and three form entry (90 children in each year) foundation stage two and KS1. The school is in south west Sheffield, in the Millhouses region. We are proud of our children who are enthusiastic, kind and happy.
The role
Dobcroft Nursery Infants have an exciting opportunity for a talented and caring candidate to join our team as a level 2 teaching assistant.
This role is to work as part of a team of teaching assistants and alongside class teachers to assist with the teaching and support of children in order to provide high quality provision. Some of the children with whom you would be working could have specific needs. These may include autism, ADHD, learning and speech difficulties and/or social, emotional and behavioural needs. You may be required to support children with these needs within our internal SEND base as well as working with a wide range of children within the classroom.
We are a trauma informed school and are therefore seeking someone with a genuine passion for developing positive relationships and a commitment to providing a relational approach to supporting children, particularly those with special needs.
The hours of work will be Monday to Wednesday 8.45 to 3.30pm and Friday 8.45 to 3.30pm.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is enthusiastic about working with young children and has a positive attitude.
- Has experience of working with EYFS and/or KS1 children.
- Has a commitment to inclusivity.
- Is committed to providing high quality and enjoyable learning opportunities for pupils.
- Is an effective and reflective practitioner with a desire to learn and develop.
- Works well as part of a team and have good interpersonal skills with colleagues, children and parents.
