Bowness Primary School is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Level 2 with SEN Responsibilities to join our caring and inclusive team. This role focuses on providing high-quality support to pupils with special educational needs, including those with high needs, either on a one-to-one basis or in small group settings.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver personalised support and care to pupils with SEN, helping them access learning and thrive in the school environment.
- Implement tailored learning plans and work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to ensure pupils make sustained progress.
- Support teaching and learning activities across the curriculum, including adapting resources and using intervention strategies.
- Contribute to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive atmosphere that nurtures emotional, behavioural, and academic development.
- Provide classroom and unstructured time supervision, and assist with behaviour management and record-keeping.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is calm, adaptable, and committed to improving outcomes for all children. Experience supporting pupils with complex SEN or high needs is desirable.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Relevant Level 2 childcare qualification.
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (or above) in a school setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEN, including PMLD, moving/handling, and intimate care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to implement individual learning plans and manage learning resources.
- Understanding of health and safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality protocols.
