Teaching Assistant - Level 3 job summary
• To take a proactive role in the support of the educational, social and emotional needs of the pupils.
• To work under the guidance of the teacher in charge to support teaching and learning at the Darwin learning Centre.
• To provide general support for teaching staff in the management and organisation of the pupils in the classroom
• To promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
• To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children and the young people within the Darwin Learning Centre.
• To build nurturing and supportive relationships with hard-to-reach, vulnerable young people.

Pilgrim Pathways School is an OFSTED outstanding alternative provision, which encompasses 4 hospital schools. The Darwin Centre is an adolescent psychiatric unit for young people from the ages of 12 -18 years old with mental health difficulties. The Phoenix Centre is for young people from 12- 18 years old with eating disorders. The Croft Children and Families Centre is for children and their families with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and the education team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital Education and Outreach Service work with children with physical health conditions.
