What skills and experience we're looking for

The school is seeking to appoint full-time Teaching Assistants.

We require a committed and innovative person with a passion to work with pupils with SEN, particularly pupils with autism. The successful applicant will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to build excellent relationships with pupils. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of community and will actively engage in all aspects of the wider school life.

We require an experienced teaching assistant with a proven track record of working with pupils with additional needs in either a mainstream or specialist environment. Please ensure all essential criteria are met before submitting an application. This post is for 32.5 hours per week, term time only, 195 days per year (190 school days plus 5 training days). Normal working hours are from 8.45 am to 3.45 pm with 30 minutes break.

Northcott School is a special needs school based in Hull. We are an SLCN/ASD school for pupils aged 3 to 19. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced SEN teachers and support staff, to observe and share practice on a regular basis, developing SEN skills linked to ASD and communication.
