We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant Level 3 SEN - Curriculum and Intervention to join our fantastic team at Pear Tree High School

This is a Grade 5, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £24,223 and the full time equivalent is £28,163.

We’re looking for:

We are seeking experienced and qualified Teaching Assistant Level 3 SEN to specialise in Independent Curriculum and Interventions. You will need NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience, a good working knowledge of child development and learning and excellent numeracy and literacy skills. You must also demonstrate awareness and application of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection.

Main purpose of the job:

You will support teaching and learning across the school by delivering targeted interventions to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development, helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To support the independent curriculum; lead with the resourcing and organisation within the independent department.
  • To work with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher and ensure implementation of Individual Learning Plans.
  • Provide regular feedback on children’s progress to the class teacher and keeping records up to date.
  • Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Participate in training, to develop relevant learning strategies and ensure students make progress in learning.
  • To support the performance management process and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
  • To converse at ease and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
