We are looking for an excellent Teaching Assistant to join our Malcolm Arnold Academy Team. As a school, we are driven to provide an education that is ambitious, broad and knowledge-rich; one that equips our pupils to live full, rich and successful lives.

About the role

As one of the school’s Teaching Assistants, you will:

  • Be part of a team that specialises in the four areas of need.
  • Plan and deliver a robust programme of intervention.
  • Respond to students with immediate and emerging needs to ensure that all are able to access the curriculum, which is their entitlement.
  • Facilitate and evaluate a range of learning experiences that are carefully matched to students’ prior learning and current needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of students' individual education plans.
  • Use assessment data to provide feedback, to set learning objectives and to plan further interventions in conjunction with teaching staff.

Malcolm Arnold Academy is a co-educational secondary school based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, for students aged 11-18.

The school takes its name from the legendary composer Sir Malcolm Arnold. Born in Northampton in 1921, he was one of the leading figures in 20th-century classical music and helped to establish the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
